“Praise You in the Storm.”

The sky before a thunderstorm gets dark and gloomy. It seems pretty scary, but there is nothing I like more than a Georgia thunderstorm. Rain pouring down, thunder rumbling, lightning striking sets my spirits high. I’m in a better mood when it’s raining. The rain pouring down on our tin roof is, in my book, one of the most glorious sounds in the world. A thunderstorm may revive the earth, but can get very scary very quickly. In this life, it can get very scary very quickly, in a flash of lightning our world can be turned upside down.
Last week, I felt my entire world turn upside down. Everything was up in the air, nothing was set in stone. The only thing that was constant was my faith and my God,
“For Jesus doesn’t change- yesterday, today, and tomorrow He’s totally Himself.” Hebrews 13:8
You know what happens after a thunderstorm the sun comes out. It warms the earth with its presence. The sky turns passionate blue. All seems right. The sun shone on my life for a while, but now it’s cloudy with a chance of rain.
Life doesn’t go how we think it should. Why can’t the sun shine all the time??if I had my way, my grandfather and great- grandmother would still be here and my grandmother wouldn’t be sick. It happens for a reason, reasons we don’t understand.
“There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:
A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.” ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Life isn’t easy; sometimes it’ll knock you down, but when that happens you got to get back up and keep trying.
