“My Redeemer Lives”

The other night, I watched the sunset, it was breath-takingly beautiful . The sky was a beautiful shade of pale pink mixed with a pale light blue that was reflecting off the water. And the sun was hot pink. Its times when I’m watching the sun rise or set or star gazing, when I should be in bed, that there is doubt in my mind that God could possibly be dead. Who else could have arranged the stars in the sky or taught the sun where to set?? Its amazing to think the Holy one that set the stars would love a sinner like me.
I am only human and make mistakes, more often than I want to admit. I have sinned and felt I did not deserve God’s love or grace. Romans 3:23 (one of my faves) says, “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” We are all sinners. No one is perfect!! We are only made perfect by the gift of the cross.
I was channel surfing, and happened by chance to stop on “The Cross:Billy Grahams Message to America,” because I recognized Lecrae (I posted the link and every one who reads this blog needs to watch it!!) It was half way through when I stop on it, but I am so happy I did. It was so touching and by the time the credits rolled I had tears streaming down my face. It spoke straight to my heart and the situation in my life. One of the verses Mr. Graham mentioned was John 14:6 (one of my faves too), ‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’ Once you believe what Christ did on the cross for you and accept him, you become a new person. A person with a living Savior. Most people just focus on what Christ did on the cross, but three days later he rose from the dead!!! Yes, you read that correctly. When Jesus rose from the dead, He conquered death, which means we are given eternal life when we accept him. We are given the gift of life eternal when we accept him.
That night I sat staring up at the stars, I sang “My Redeemer Lives”(one of my faves) by Nicole C. Mullen. And I would like to close with a quote from the song.
“And the same gentle hands
That hold me when I’m broken
They conquer death to bring me victory”

God Bless,

MH

Good Friday to Easter Sunday

We woke up this morning and saw on the calendar it was Good Friday.
Good Friday is the day Christ was crucified for all the sin committed by future generations. Most people do not know that after Christ was nail to that tree on Calvary’s hill, there was a great storm. An earthquake, the gospel of Matthew says. And this poem, I wrote put words to the feels everyone had that day.

Lightning cracks, you treble inside
Thunder rumbles, you want to hide
Why do you fear inside?
Do you know after the storm comes a light?
So bright
It shines through the night
The Lord of might
Jesus at the right
Carried the weight
Of our burdens to the cross that night
Through the clouds it comes
Can’t hide
Can’t stay inside
Want to tell the world of his might
What He can do for your fright

After Christ died on the cross, He was put in a tomb, but a day later light was again upon the earth, when Christ rose from the dead. Easter Sunday we celebrate the day Christ rose.
